What changed
Earlier observations focused on LP and vault yields around Aerodrome and Beefy. This observation identified a separate incentive layer that rewards direct tokenized-stock purchases and holding. 1inch states that its campaign runs for eight weeks from 2026-08-26 in two-week epochs, paying 5% of qualifying purchase value in USDC, capped at $25 per wallet across the campaign. Merkl's current opportunity list showed 1inch cStocks at up to 5% cashback and Reserve and Definitive cStocks at up to 2%, with roughly five days remaining on the displayed opportunities.
Why it matters
Tokenized-stock returns are expanding beyond concentrated-LP fees and AERO emissions into customer-acquisition subsidies paid to holders. This avoids LP-specific impermanent loss but is not organic yield generated by the stock or DeFi activity; it is a temporary incentive that can influence trading volume, holding demand and headline return comparisons.
Evidence
- 1inch Blog — Coinbase tokenized stocks on Base — 1inch states that the launch incentive runs for eight weeks from 2026-08-26 in two-week epochs, paying 5% of qualifying purchase value in USDC, capped at $25 per wallet across the campaign, subject to holding and validation conditions.
- Merkl — Tokenized Stocks opportunities — Merkl showed Base tokenized-equity opportunities including up to 5% cashback for 1inch cStocks and up to 2% for Reserve and Definitive cStocks, with about five days remaining on the relevant displays.
- Merkl — public announcement — Merkl promoted up to 5% USDC cashback for AAPLc, GOOGLc, NVDAc and METAc and described tracking eligible transactions across 11 applications.
Limitations
The incentive program began on 2026-08-26; this observation reflects a newly captured current incentive layer, not a newly launched campaign after the prior patrol. Cashback rates, eligible apps, wallet caps, epoch conditions and remaining duration vary by campaign and can change. Merkl's aggregate Max APR is not equivalent to a simple cashback rate. Tokenized-stock price, issuer/custody, jurisdictional eligibility, mint/redemption, spread and slippage risks remain.
