What changed

Versus the 2026-09-19 observation of 16.98% lender yield, 17.52% borrower rate and roughly 97% utilization, Morpho now displays 5.07% for the 6-hour lender rate, 5.64% for the 6-hour borrower rate and 90.21% utilization. On the displayed figures, lender yield is lower by 11.91 percentage points, the borrower rate by 11.88 points and utilization by about 6.79 points. The current borrower rate also shows a 5.59% 24-hour average and 6.23% 7-day average, confirming that the earlier high-rate spike has not persisted.

Why it matters

The yield source is USDC interest paid by borrowers rather than an external token reward. As utilization moves from the steep section of the rate curve back toward the 90% target, lender yield can compress quickly. The move illustrates how high APY in small tokenized-stock collateral markets can be driven primarily by utilization rather than by a durable incentive program.

Evidence

Limitations

The 2026-09-19 baseline is a public observation of a Morpho API snapshot from that time, while the current reading uses Morpho's 6-hour market-page display, so the measurement windows are not perfectly identical. Rates are variable and can change quickly with utilization. Key risks and limitations include utilization and withdrawal-liquidity sensitivity in a thin market, oracle behavior, LLTV and liquidation mechanics, smart-contract risk, the 24/5 equity-reference versus 24/7 Base timing mismatch, and tokenized-stock issuer, custody, redemption, eligibility and jurisdiction constraints. No new external incentive was identified in this observation.
